I think I have a timing problem. At least, I have a problem of the starter turning the engine over when the engine is hot. I can disconnect the ignition coil and the engine will turn over fine. I suspect the timing is too far advanced. (It runs great here.) I retard the timing, the engine runs a little rough, and I can turn the engine over, however, it is weak. Again, I can disconnect the ignition coil and it turns over great. Sorry I can not give you any timing numbers. I put a chrome fan guard on and I can not see the timing number. I will correct this when my son can help me. Am I missing something? What else could it be? I am near Mount Airy, NC... My shipping zip is 27017. Please email me off the list (I get the digest) if you have a set or have a good lead. Needs to be cheap! I also need a good fan clutch. If anyone is interested... I'd sell either or both of my Grand Wagoneers ('87 & '85) - reasonable - but not for parts. I'd also consider trades.
