After my first tune-up on my '99 WJ I experienced a miss and
shudder. My first guess was that one of the engine coils I
had taken out by force had suffered from the experience. After
consulting with the folks on the WJ list on yahoogroups I learned
of a technique that works for Chrysler products:
you turn the key on/off/on/off/on - then WATCH the odometer,
the codes will appear there.

You can't see it clearly in the video, but the codes are, and mean:
P0305 = #5 IGNITION COIL
P1685 is an Invalid SKIM key. I disconnected part
of the aftermarket alarm system that was going to a
coil wire...
I reconnected the wire and was able to start the car.
I did get that key light with the wire disconnected.
