(or how not to change your oil?) http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2008/02-Feb-17-Omega-oil-mountains/ALL.html (no Diesels were harmed in this experiment... ;) Guess I will need to finish the oil change... all I need to do is change the filter and add oil, eh? You've heard of the topsider? this is the "downunder"... to change oil, simply make hard use of brakes, this commences the oil change process... no need to deal with that messing drain plug ever again... ;) ...not recommended for use in heavy traffic... :) or in environmentally sensistive areas... I knew the clearance was a bit of an issue... thinking of going with a 2" lift kit, that should bring the springs up to a positive arch, probably close to stock height... but now wondering if I shouldn't go with the full 4" of lift... that would probably net 2" after the weight issue... but then I'd have to modify the panhard bar brackets, brake lines, get a new pitman arm... with three inches of body lift already that much spring lift would have me using a ladder to get into my Jeep. :) Also found out the vacuum pump is inoperative... going to replace the injectors too... otherwise, it's doing pretty well... the last run had good performance results, almost hit 70 mph going up the clearview hill... wasn't strong, or smooth, but it did better than previous attempts... I'm thinking what I may do is swap out the oil filter, refill the crank case, pressure wash the underside and drive it (carefully) down to the topsoil place down the hill to get a scale reading to see what I'm really dealing with. john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #2743 *************************
