My 2.1L TD was a nice little unit, but a bit underpowered and parts were overpriced, but it worked quite well in the Cherokee. The 2.5L TD would be a much nicer setup. I've got the lift pump coming today for my 6.2L Diesel Grand Wagoneer project. Working from home today so as soon as I'm off work I can start wrenching. :) My son is going to chase the parts while I'm working. Even with the GW project I am planning for the next Diesel project, and that will either be a WJ or XJ version with a Mercedes Diesel... long term plans, no parts acquisitions yet... :) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Thu, 20 Mar 2008, Stephen Rigley wrote: # Hi, # # So, I've returned to my '96 XJ sport 2.5TD project (after a 4 month break # due to busy life), I'm looking to get at the camshaft to replace the pushrod # lifter things (technical term there) + the pushrod clips (the pushrods on # cylinder #4 kept popping out). # I'd gotten as far as loosening the head bolts, then discovered that 5 of # them were hidden under the injectors, so they had to come out. I # took my dremel to the 27mm and ground it out until it fit. The injectors # still didn't want to come out, even with a big torque wrench on there.. I # didn't like doing it but "Goliath" (my impact wrench) had to be used to get # them out!
