Chuck Hagenbaugh's 1966 Jeep J3600 stake truck

VIN: 3406X 10258
according to SM1019-R2, pg4 this is a J3600 Truck Cab and Stake Platform with
a GVW of 6,000lbs with Dual Rear Wheels. 4,271 curb weight originally with the Vigilante 327 V8,
or possibly the Hi-Torque 232... however, the pictures shown below clearly reveal a Tornado 230 (3.8L)

The J3600 - Stake Platform sold for $3,280 in 1966.

According to Robert C. Ackerson's Standard catalog of 4x4s the serial number indicates a 1966 model year.

In 1965 the serial numbers for 3406X would have started at 10001.
IN 1966 the serial numbers for 3406X started at 10075 - this is a 10258, putting it in 1966.

In 1967 the serial numbers for 3406X started at 200001 and up.

Based on the pictures this engine was either transplanted in, or because a stake platform would
have been a special order, or a fleet sale it's likely it may have been custom ordered with it.

the engines offered in the Kaiser Jeeps were:
230 63 - 65
